Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager to lead our Controls Department, overseeing a high-performing team of Project Managers and Field Technicians. Reporting directly to the VP of Service, this role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, business development, and technical innovation in our Building Automation Systems (BAS) division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Controls department to achieve operational goals, including budget adherence, revenue growth, and KPI performance.
  • Oversee project and service delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and sales support to enhance business development and client engagement.
  • Foster strong customer relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and elevate service quality.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and alignment with our core values.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to support strategic goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Proven track record in managing HVAC, plumbing, or building automation service projects.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Minimum 2 years of successful project/program leadership with on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Expertise in process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, PMP/PgMP.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement frameworks.
  • Advanced skills in digital project management tools and data analytics.
