Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DDC Engineer/Programmer to lead the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for building automation projects. This role requires deep technical expertise across multiple control platforms, strong field experience, and the ability to mentor and guide other technicians. The ideal candidate will thrive in both leadership and hands-on technical responsibilities and be adept at working with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop control drawings and system architectures for BAS/DDC projects.

Program controllers and field devices to implement specified sequences of operation for HVAC and building automation systems.

Test and verify all system inputs/outputs for proper operation, including point calibration and functional performance.

Configure and validate alarms, historical trends, data archiving, and event notifications.

Develop and implement graphics for intuitive operator interface and navigation.

Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing support for system operation and optimization.

Mentor junior DDC technicians and lead on-site installation and commissioning teams.

Integrate third-party systems via open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.

Read, write, and modify control logic for a variety of manufacturers and platforms.

Interface with engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning agents to resolve technical issues in the field.

Provide as-built documentation and accurate system drawings to the engineering department.

Set up and troubleshoot network equipment, site workstations, and ensure reliable system communication (IP/Ethernet, MS/TP, etc.).

Provide both on-site and remote support from our offices to ensure job completion and client satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, HVAC, or related field – OR – 5+ years of progressive field experience.

5–7 years of experience in DDC system service, programming, and commissioning.

Demonstrated experience with BACnet system architecture, including BACnet IP/Ethernet and MS/TP networks.

Expertise in airside and waterside system programming and HVAC control strategies.

Strong ability to work independently and to lead field teams effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and non-technical stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, servers, networking, and IP LAN/WAN environments.
