Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Technician/Programmer to lead the installation, programming, startup, and commissioning of complex Building Automation Systems (BAS) for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with major BAS platforms such as Siemens, Distech, or Tridium Niagara, and a strong background in field coordination and network integration. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project success from programming and startup through system verification and customer training.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and execute the field installation, programming, startup, and commissioning of BAS projects.

Develop and modify job-specific control programs, system databases, and graphical user interfaces.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex sequence of operations and integration issues.

Configure and verify network devices (e.g., routers, switches, servers, hubs) to ensure robust system connectivity and cybersecurity compliance.

Collaborate with internal teams and trade contractors for installation schedules, network drops, and IP configuration.

Interface with customers’ IT departments to align network security and communication protocols for seamless integration with third-party systems.

Perform system testing, final inspections, and customer acceptance demonstrations.

Provide end-user training and deliver clear system documentation and support materials.

Maintain detailed, professional reporting and contribute to as-built documentation for project closeout.
Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.

6+ years of hands-on experience in BAS controls programming and field commissioning.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, and energy management principles.

Experience with Siemens, Distech, or Tridium Niagara platforms is required.

Tridium Niagara N4 Certification is required.

Working knowledge of IP networking, network security, and BAS integration protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON).

Must have a valid Driver’s License in good standing and be willing to travel to job sites as needed.
