Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Technician/Programmer to lead the installation, programming, startup, and commissioning of complex Building Automation Systems (BAS) for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with major BAS platforms such as Siemens, Distech, or Tridium Niagara, and a strong background in field coordination and network integration. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project success from programming and startup through system verification and customer training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the field installation, programming, startup, and commissioning of BAS projects.

  • Develop and modify job-specific control programs, system databases, and graphical user interfaces.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex sequence of operations and integration issues.

  • Configure and verify network devices (e.g., routers, switches, servers, hubs) to ensure robust system connectivity and cybersecurity compliance.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and trade contractors for installation schedules, network drops, and IP configuration.

  • Interface with customers’ IT departments to align network security and communication protocols for seamless integration with third-party systems.

  • Perform system testing, final inspections, and customer acceptance demonstrations.

  • Provide end-user training and deliver clear system documentation and support materials.

  • Maintain detailed, professional reporting and contribute to as-built documentation for project closeout.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in BAS controls programming and field commissioning.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, and energy management principles.

  • Experience with Siemens, Distech, or Tridium Niagara platforms is required.

  • Tridium Niagara N4 Certification is required.

  • Working knowledge of IP networking, network security, and BAS integration protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON).

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License in good standing and be willing to travel to job sites as needed.
